Post-Holiday Withdrawal Symptoms

After a 15-day break to the beautiful cities of the Eastern block countries in Europe, I'm finally back on the good ol' sunny island set in the sea--where the kiasuism never ends. The whirlwind trip feels surreal now, almost as though it was a long dream that I had... after all, one week ago, I was still cruising on the Danube River, and taking in the sights and sounds of the ever so beautiful Budapest!...ah well. All good things have to come to an end I suppose. It's back to work tomorrow again. Yes. Back to facing the Moronic Assess of Society, and to the highly unpredictable climate in my office. But then again..what's new?

After a 2 week break from choir, I was back again in the loft today, trying my best to contribute whatever I can with my sometimes-not-too-audible voice. It's quite strange and unexplainable, but singing really does help to lift my spirit..=)

..that aside. It really amazes me to see how "politics" sneaks its ugly way through to all aspects of my life. I thought it was bad enough at work, but hey, guess what... I'm not spared from it even on Sundays. Ironically, the church, with its many "Holy" ministries has sometimes become a haven for gossipmongers and "ugly" people. Today's incident just served to remind me of the many ugly things I've heard about people and things around me. Sadly (and "repulsively"), I see this ugly side of Sunday "worshippers" not only from outside my ministry, but from within as well... and that can really make it a displeasure to participate in an otherwise worthy and inspiring ministry. I mean, I have my daily dosage of this from Mondays to Fridays. I don't need anymore of this nonsense during the weekend!

Oh well, let's just see how things go from here...
