Prayer of St. Francis

The Peace Prayer of St. Francis is a famous prayer which first appeared around the year 1915 AD. It's a meaningful hymn...

Lord make me an instrument of your peace

Where there is hatred,
Let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is error, truth;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled
As to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

I think I mentioned this in my blog before. My friend who is a piano teacher had a concert where her students took turns to perform pieces on stage. I was tasked the role of the main coordinator during the concert yesterday. Ahemm...

It was just so cute seeing the little ones overcoming their stage fright and playing their pieces (though not very perfectly since most of them were too nervous!) One couragous boy even sang a song and tired to do a little dance along with it. It was simply hilarious watching him moving his tensed body.

The grand finale was a 2 part choir singing some christmas caroles. It really inspired me. I sure miss those days singing in the church choir!

Anyway, I'm off to Bangkok with K2 later for some shopping spree. Will be back in a few day!

9th Dec 2005

It's one year more to 9th Dec 2006! It's going to be an important date... so friends, please mark that day in your calendar.

Wishing for a white christmas

My friend sent this in a photo attachment from the States. Seeing the photos suddenly made me wish for a white christmas. It just seemed so much fun to be building snowman, having snow fights and dozing off in front of the fire.

God, would you make Singapore snow for a day?

Shopping for stuff

Went shopping today. Not the usual kind of shopping for clothes but stuff for my new home.

It was kind of exciting... pointing to this and that and asking the salesgirl to note the model number down. It's only after the whole selection process that I realized I've exceeded the budget and then try my best to use my bargainning power (not much I must say)...

Never did I know that stuff like lights (many of them!), a fan, a doorbell, cookers, hood, oven, mirrors, a sink, toilet accessories and water heaters could cost me $3000!

Guess that's just the tip of the iceberg. There'll be more purchases to buy and more holes to burn in my tiny pocket.

BTW: Turtle... are you keeping to your promise of sponsoring the doorbell?

Getaway

Went for a short getaway early this week. I must say it was a well deserved break for me. I did nothing but sleep, swim and soak in the sun. I think I had too much sun. I'm all burnt and red now! I suspect I'll start peeling pretty soon!! How?

Isn't this shot artistic? hahaa...

The (setting) sun...

And the sea.

A tribute to turtles!
