I finally done it!

I've finally pumped the air into my car tyres!

Yes yes, call me an idiot but other than driving my little car around, there's really nothing else I know about it. Even when I go to the petrol kiosk, I just get the attendant to fill the petrol up for me. I mean what's so difficult about saying 'Uncle, 95 full tank' ?

So I finally decided that I will not depend on The Husband on the tyres anymore and I did it on my own just now. So proud of myself (Pats self on the back!) Well done!

Now, I've got to learn to pump in the petrol next =)

Almost 9 months

Gab's one day short of being 9 months old. Time flies and I found myself smiling as I recollect on his growth. I'm just amazed with the things he has learnt these few months.

- I can safely say he can recognise me and will flash his mega-watt smile when I pick him up from the nanny's every evening.
- He is starting to make noises and is trying to engage in a conversation at times.
- He doesn't really like to be left alone and would want company all the time.
- He is a junkie and seems to enjoy his biscuits lots.
- He is getting harder to feed and needs some 'entertainment' (either from me or the TV) during his meal times.
- He is starting to be a challenge to put into bed at night. He is always resisting his tiredness and will be having a mini gym work-out session (struggling with me) on the bed each night.
- He is learning to stand on his own feet now.
- He likes music and seems to be able to tap his feet according to the rhythm.

I can't wait for him to learn to call me Mummy and be able to walk! Then I can finally bring him to the zoo...

C is for cookie

I've been beo-ing this pair of shoes for a few weeks now. Sesame street shoes by New Balance. It's sooooooo cute!! Only thing is that it's kinda expensive and I know I won't spend that kind of money on a pair of shoes which Gab would probably outgrow in a matter of months.

Alas, I'm still thinking about the pair of shoes... Hee hee.. Aunty Kwaychup and gang, Gab's birthday and Christmas is coming up in the next few months! I'll prepare a 'Gabriel Mummy's Wishlist' soon!

Perhaps, I'll find joy in tearing of gift wrappers again =)

Torticollis

Torticollis = tilted neck... Gab has been tilting his neck to one side for a looong time now. (Study accompanying photograph). We had dismissed it as a passing stage thing but he seems to be more and more tilted now. The PD could take it no more and commanded us to bring him to a physio for some 'correction' to be made.

Don't think Gab will be in for any fun as according to my PD, the physio will twist and turn his neck by force (ouch!) and babies will surely cry. I can already imagine myself cringing at that sight.

Sigh.. No pain no gain. I wouldn't want Gab to be tilted to one side forever. Hope the treatment will work.

Baby Tamagotchi

The more Gab grows, the more I feel like I'm handling a Tamagotchi... one that demands to be fed and played with ALL the time. Also one to be cleaned up after each pooh.

My boy is growing to be a mischievous one. Even the babysitter complains about how naughty he can be.. and this boy is only 8 mths +. Sigh sigh. After every weekend, I feel like I'm zapped of all my energy. I can't even do any work on weekends now!!

To quote my mom, Gab HAS to have his baby TV when he eats and his baby music when he is in the car. He is truely a Tamagotchi King.

Play barber

When I was a child, I used to play hairdresser to my Barbie dolls. I'll wash their long hair and then cut them. Of course I was never good at it cos I was only a child and my hands weren't steady enough. So Barbie's just got shorter and shorter as I tried to balance the cut on both sides.

Fastforward twenty years later... now I've progressed to be a barber cutting my little Ken's hair. Though this Ken has got rather little hair, it still grows, especially at the sides. I had a rather fun time last week cutting his hair. Unlike most other children, little Ken was glued to the TV and allowed me to churn out whatever styles I wanted on him.

His fate however, was somewhat similar to Barbie. His hair just got shorter and shorter as I tried my darnest best to level it up. Haha. It's not that glamourous looking now but I guess I'll get better after more practise.
